Valentina Santamaria is a PhD student in political science at the University of New Sorbonne (Paris 3), at the Center of Research and Documentation about the Americas (CREDA). After a Double Master's degree in social sciences at the Institute of Latin American Studies (IHEAL) and in Economic and international issues assessment at the Externado University of Colombia, she specialized in religious reconfiguration in Colombia. Her PhD, directed by Camille Goirand, focuses on the politicization of evangelical actors against abortion decriminalization, considering Social Movement-Parties interdependencies. Parting from an ethnographic methodology, she combines concepts from social movement sociology and religion sociology.
